1. DO NOT try too hard. We both know that can't help you very much. Try to do the speech from your heart. Speak from your heart. Be natural. After all, it's just a speech in front of your family and friends. That's all.
2. Don't drink before the speech. There's an old saying: "Everyone likes a drink but NO ONE likes a drunk.". Drinking one glass of wine to get you relaxed might be good. But drinking 5 glasses of wine isn't a situation you would want to be in.
3. Why so serious? Make it funny. Weddings are serious ceremonies anyway so speeches are great ways to make them more entertaining.
